A little History: I grew up in Crete Nebraska. I helped my father work on antique cars most of my life, which developed my work ethic and eye for detail. I worked at Taco Johns in Crete, Nebraska while attending College of Hair Design in Lincoln, Nebraska. I performed tasks such as cashier, drive thru attendant, dish washer, and cook. I was considered the top candidate to manage a future store in Durango, Colorado. I learned customer service and management in a fast paced environment. Although this was a fast food restaurant, it also taught me a lot about work ethic and customer service which I apply in my painting business to this very day. I then worked at Walker Manufacturing in Seward, Nebraska as a spot welder and fork truck driver in the distribution department. After factory life, I enlisted in the United States Army and served active duty between 1991 and 1997. I spent 2 years in Washington State at Fort Lewis working as a Unit Supply Specialist at a S-4 for 555th Combat Engineer Group. There I worked my way up from an E-1 private to an E-4 Specialist in under 2 years while attending Pierce College at night. The next 4 years I spent in Hohenfels Germany. I was a Unit Supply Specialist for an Observer Controller Team and managed a supply room for 1-4 Infantry Battalion while taking corespondence courses from Moody Bible Institute. I was promoted to Corporal, than Sergeant before my ETS in June, 1997. 2 of my 4 children were born in Amberg, Germany. Some of my awards in the Army included the National Defense Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Ribbon, Drivers Badge, Expert Marksman badge, and Expert Grenade Badge. I was 1 of 6 soldiers chosen from our battalion who qualified physical fitness, Army Correspondence Courses, and College to pursue Special Forces. I declined, choosing rather to be with my family full time. |

Born in a suburb of Los Angeles, I always worked some form of construction. I took up painting around 1986, in Phoenix, Arizona, where I learned from my then father-in-law. He taught me how to spray paint, lacquer, wallpaper, etc. I moved up to Ilinois in 1989 which is when I really learned how to do residential repaints. Prior to that, I was mainly a new construction painter. I have been married for 18 years now. I love all animals, big and small, we have a dog, 2 cats, a parrot and some mice running around the kitchen. My wife Sue and I love being outdoors when it's warm; working in the yard, or being out on the lake fishing. |

Hello, my name is Ryan. I've been with Matthews Painting for 5 years and I enjoy working with Jason and my fellow co-workers. I really enjoy when a client is happy with our experience. I am experienced in power washing, log-home restoration, deck staining and other painting projects. I love Michigan football, ice fishing, Motocross, coffee, coaching pee-wee football and spending time with my wife and three kids. I am also currently in training to become a level I & II volunteer firefighter. My next goal is to further my training as a first responder & Tactical rescue. |

As a Fort Wayne native, I began painting in 1977. My career includes 10 years in industrial painting as well as 25 years in commercial and residential. My wife and I have enjoyed raising seven children and spending time with our 12 grandchildren. Our youngest will attend Trine University in the fall, where he will play basketball. Outside of painting I enjoy IU basketball, golf and fishing. Go Hoosiers! |

I was born In Bremen, Indiana, and went to school there. I've been married 33 years, and have one daughter who lives in California. Moved to Colorado in 1978. I went through the painter's apprenticeship in Denver, Colorado in the 80's and moved back to Indiana in 1987. I've been painting for over 30 years. In my spare time, I enjoy researching my family history, and I have a large genealogical site on the Internet. I enjoy spending time with my family and messing around with my computer. |

After working as a painter for a year, I realized my skills were better suited for the office. I have been the office manager for Matthews' Painting since 2009. I deal with many of the day-to-day operations in the office, like scheduling bids, payroll, and will probably be the first one you talk to when you call in. I am great at troubleshooting computer problems, have some programming skills, and I like to juggle. Although originally from New Hampshire, I grew up in Quito, Ecuador, where my parents were missionaries for 20 years. I now live in Warsaw, Indiana, near my sister's family in Winona Lake. |
